CIPS

NEUPC is the FIRST and ONLY UKUPC Higher Education consortium to be approved as a Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Study Centre, meaning we can deliver high quality, competitively priced CIPS qualifications to members of the UK universities purchasing consortia.

Our courses are unique as they are contextualised within the HE sector, with training delivered through either virtual or distance learning. Our MCIPS-qualified tutors share their extensive HE sector backgrounds and provide dedicated support to our students.

NEUPC has been a CIPS study centre since 2016 and is unique amongst university consortia in having staff dedicated to developing procurement skills in member employees. Continued successful pass rates and positive feedback have recently seen NEUPC retain its CIPS Study Centre status for the 2024/25 academic year.

FAQS

What is distance and virtual learning?

  • Distance learning is largely self-study with NEUPC-supplied resources, including CIPS study guides, CIPS e-learning and slide packs for each module, and the advantage of on-request tutor support through email, phone, and online meetings.
  • Virtual learning provides a mixture of taught workshops and webinars supported by CIPS study guides, slide packs, homework activities and revision materials, and tutor support.

What are the benefits of having CIPS?

  • CIPS is a globally recognised qualification that can boost your career opportunities and demonstrate to employers your commitment to being a better procurement professional.
  • We currently offer three professional qualifications to enable you to progress your career and give yourself that competitive edge.

How can your course help me in the HE sector?

  • We have contextualised the modules to make them relevant to higher education.
  • You will have support from tutors who are themselves procurement professionals who have extensive experience within the sector and understand how to use CIPS tools and apply them to the real world.

Is there any funding available to undertake CIPS?

  • The CIPS Level 4 Advanced Diploma is available for funding via your institution’s apprenticeship levy account as part of a Level 4 Procurement Apprenticeship.

Your Feedback

My Tutor, Rachel is the kindest and most supportive person, she believed in me when I didn’t believe in in myself she supported me through some difficult times. She always came back with information I needed and went above and beyond to provide learning material for me and the rest of my cohort at all times. She deserves special recognition for being a wonderful tutor that everyone appreciates, I could not have wished for a better person to help me learn and develop my procurement skills. I will always be grateful to her for the help and confidence she has given me to develop my career.

Maxine Moran from the University of Cumbria

The level of support from my tutor throughout the experience has been amazing, although a distance learner I am made to feel part of the group, being invited to mock exams helps so much to prepare me for the real thing.

I really enjoy the material Rachel has put together to support me throughout my learning journey, these have been a great addition to the CIPS text books which can be long reads.

Rachel as always has been a fantastic support. Rachel is a brilliant tutor, throughout my distance learning she has provided additional support in terms of mock exams and revision material. This has helped break up some of the intense reading the CIPS CR books bring.

I really enjoy the distance learning and the content and teaching provided by the tutor who delivers the course. I enjoy the content, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the learning which I have been doing so far.

Rachel makes the webinars very engaging and enjoyable and is very helpful and supportive.

Rachel always finds ways to give examples of how we would use what we are learning in our current roles which helps give more of an understanding. Rachel is very supportive and will always answer any questions we have.

Terri Hudson has been an amazing tutor!

Rachel has been amazing, she has been really supportive knowing I am distant learning. She has been readily available and helps and supports me. She has given me some great materials to aid my learning too.

Tutor very knowledgeable.

Terri's sessions and revision tips have helped a lot with studying for my first exam.

Great support from our tutor Terri with practice questions and revision tips.  Additional support from Rachel who forwarded useful links to webinars/workshops and revision sessions.

Having been out of education for 16 years, starting a new course was nerve wracking, however Rachel has been amazing, making me feel reassured and the experience far less daunting.

Rachel is very informative and works hard to make sure we understand the work, she goes above and beyond.

I really enjoy the material Rachel has put together to support me throughout my learning journey, these have been a great addition to the CIPS text books which can be long reads.

Our tutor (as always) prepared us well, we are very lucky to have her.

My CIPS study has been really enjoyable, and my tutor is supportive, knowledgeable and very supportive.

Thank you for the great course and your permanent support.

I would like to say that Terri's teaching really helped as someone new to procurement/buying role. Her Youtube videos were great to follow and as someone who hasn't studied in years it made the transition to studying again effective for me.
