- The opportunity for closer links with appointed Contractors to increase the understanding between parties and to improve working relationships to ultimately deliver quality works on time and within budget.

Scope of the Framework
The framework may only be accessed by the specific consortia members (as set out below) and their subsidaries. It has been stated to contractors that some subsidaries may be located outside of the North-East region, however their ability to service those regions will be subject to enquiry at the time.
The call-offs from this framework and the nature of the works procured will involve all aspects of minor building works (refurbishment and improvement schemes) typical of university buildings and sites such as but not limited to laboratories, small and complex lecture theatres, libraries, café and commercial kitchens, offices (individual and open plan) public areas, meeting rooms, student accommodation, plant areas, etc.
The nature of the works will mean that most are delivered in live buildings, and it is expected that the framework contractor’s knowledge of the Universities and their working practices will be built up over time. All contractors have confirmed their ability to be onsite within two hours of a request being made, to resolve any urgent issues, whether pre or post completion.
