One of the issues the Higher Education sector is facing, is due to the impact of COVID19 on the airline industry. In conjunction with the NEUPC and other HE Purchasing Consortia, SUPC have written to The Business Travel Association (BTA) to raise concerns about the impact of cancelled travel on the HE Sector. The letter also covers the concerns of vouchers and credit notes offered by airlines as a means of refunds. You can view the letter to BTA and the response received from the Chief Executive at BTA following the links below:
An airline refund proposal has been issued by the Business Travel Association for the corporate travel market during this crisis, to ensure a fair and workable solution can be found. The BTA has also outlined a number of refund solutions for the IATA airlines. Please click the link below to view the refund proposal:
An Open Letter to Commissioner Valean on the use of airline vouchers has also been shared. A number of airline bodies are sending the letter to the EU asking for a temporary amendment to the regulations surrounding refunds.
