NEUPC are delighted to announce the launch of our brand new Circular Economy Furniture Marketplace, brought to you in collaboration with Workscape, a supplier from Circular Economy lot of our Sustainable Furniture Solutions framework. Ournewly created, bespoke, dedicated online website will enable the redistribution of good quality 2nd life furniture between University departments, university members and nominated registered charities.
Our goal is to change the way that furniture is bought and used across our sector, making meaningful changes to behaviour that will maximise the reuse of good quality used furniture within and beyond University networks; in so doing reduce the need to purchase new furniture; reduce the need for furniture to go to landfill; and to minimise furniture related impacts on the environment. As the sector strives to deliver leading environmentally friendly initiatives, we are thrilled that the marketplace is now live for our members to utilise to help meet their sustainable goals.
Universities will have the ability to sell or donate any good quality furniture on the Marketplace at any time. It’s completely free to register and free to use for all members, contact us and, subject to conformance to minimum quality and quantity criteria, by simply sending product details and photographs to Workscape ([email protected]), they will upload your products for immediate viewing on the live furniture exchange. You are able to set your listing so that it’s only available to other faculties within your own university network before then to other University Members of the UKUPC, or you can open it straight up to all members to help you move the furniture on quicker.
